Professional teeth whitening with instant results
Dissatisfaction or embarrassment about the color of your teeth is a common concern for patients. If you’re noticing that your teeth aren’t as bright as they used to be, or that brown, yellow or gray are overtaking your teeth, talk to your dentist about a teeth whitening option.
When done by a dental professional, whitening is quick, safe and effective, and works for patients of all ages. While some severely stained teeth may benefit from crowns or veneers, most tooth discoloration can be easily whitened in our offices. Causes for discolored teeth might include aging, smoking, medication or illness, or tooth stains from certain foods and drinks. Teeth whitening can reverse these issues and allow you to be more confident in your smile.
At Moore & Pascarella Dental Group, we provide Zoom! Teeth Whitening or bleach whitening trays to restore the appearance of your teeth and provide a bright, healthy, and youthful smile.
What to expect with whitening trays
Before having teeth whitened, your dentist will perform a dental exam to make sure you have no issues that might keep you from benefiting from teeth whitening, and decide which teeth need whitening. Typically, a regular cleaning is also recommended a whitening procedure. We also often recommend that you avoid tobacco products and discoloring foods and beverages like coffee, cola or red wine in the future.
The first step in the whitening tray process invloves taking impressions of your teeth, this way we cab create customized stints that will perfectly fit your teeth. It takes a day or two until your trays are ready.
Once the trays are available, the teeth whitening process can begin. We provide a special bleaching agent that will gradually brighten your teeth as you are wearing your stints. In order to achieve the best possible results, we recommend you wear your trays every night for 3-4 hours for 1-2 weeks.
What to expect with zoom! teeth whitening
Zoom! is a process for teeth bleaching that takes about an hour in the dentist’s chair and results in fast, noticeable results. We use a whitening solution of 25 percent hydrogen peroxide, along with a chairside lamp that activates the process, to brighten your teeth safely with no damage to the teeth, gums or mouth. Moore & Pascarella chooses Zoom for whitening because of its effectiveness and safety. It provides immediate results for our patient’s teeth, in comparison to an at-home whitening tray, whitening toothpaste, whitening strips and other methods.
This method of teeth whitening offers outstanding results in just one visit. You will walk out of our office with the bright, healthy whiter smile you want. Patients can expect to leave with a touch-up whitening kit for home use, and instructions on how to use it when needed.
The advanced blue light technology used in Zoom not only accelerates the results but you can achieve your desired shade with minimal discomfort.
While other types of whitening treatments can take weeks or months to see noticeable results and can leave your teeth and gums feeling sensitive, Zoom treatments make it possible to not only see your brighter smile but be able to fully enjoy it after just a single visit.
Whitening teeth at dentist vs at home
There are multiple at-home whitening products on the market that may seem quicker and easier than getting a professional whitening treatment done at our office, but these options are not always the best solutions for a brighter smile. While at-home whitening treatments do contain small amounts of hydrogen peroxide and other whitening agents, these often do not produce the same shade of white as professional whitening at the dentist’s office. Additionally, having a dentist professionally supervise your whitening treatment ensures that you can achieve results while also maintaining the health of your teeth.
Different types of whitening
When considering teeth whitening, there are multiple options to choose from, including:
- Whitening rinses
- Whitening toothpaste
- Bleaching Gel strips
- Whitening tray
Whitening toothpaste and rinses are used just like their regular counterparts but even though they come into contact with your teeth once or twice a day, it’s only for a short period of time. Gel strips and whitening trays are often used overnight and are left on the teeth for longer periods of time. Each type of whitening treatment has its own pros and cons, and we are happy to discuss the most effective option for your teeth whitening goals during your consultation.
